A chiropractor is doctor whose focus is to help manage the accumulation of stress and trauma on primarily your spine. The purpose for this is to restore and maintain normal function and health.
In the US chiropractors are trained at the doctorate level and receive a degree of Doctor of Chiropractic. The same level of training that a lawyer (Juris Doctorate), dentist (Doctor of Dental Sciences), or a medical doctor would have. Chiropractors are not medical doctors, though. It is a different approach.
How many sessions or how often you go to a chiropractor will vary based upon each individuals goals.
Trying to estimate the costs of an unknown individual is like trying to estimate a car repair without knowing the problems the car is having.
In our office, we focus on structural correction. We measure how far each individual has deviated from normal structural limits. Our goal is not just to help restore normal function but to also help prevent people from having the same recurring problems. We also work with people and their families to promote good health throughout their lives.
Our approach is to restore normal structure and therefore function. Let’s say you have a bent strut in the front end of your car. There are going to be secondary problems (symptoms) that will arise. Your tires will wear out quicker. Other components will break. You can run around treating the secondary problems (symptoms) or you can correct the bent strut (structural) and the secondary problems will resolve on their own. Chiropractic is different because it doesn’t actually treat symptoms. They just happen to go away with better structure.
Many times the ligaments, tendons, muscles and discs will generate pain when a structural change has occurred.
Chiropractic care is great at helping mom’s through their pregnancy and may also help the unborn child in part by reducing the risk of complications during delivery.
Pop your knuckle, same sound. It’s just that each level of the spine has 6 joints. More joints equals more sounds.
Each person is evaluated each day. They are adjusted based on that evaluation and possibly other factors that are unique to each visit.
We do not require patients to remove their clothing, but loose and baggy clothing can hinder the doctors’ ability to do their job at times.
Our approach is about prevention. We feel that if you can get to the structural changes as soon as possible, you can prevent more permanent damage. So, yes, it is appropriate for children.
